Worship

The Chaplain to University Staff shares in the life and worship of Great St. Mary’s and Michaelhouse, and is involved with other occasional groups, meetings and services in the life of the University.

Morning Prayer (Common Worship) is said at Merton Hall Farmhouse most Wednesday mornings at 9 am ~ All Welcome!

‘UL Prayers’ is a small group, meeting monthly at the University Library.

During Lent we ‘up the stakes’ and meet weekly.
We have enjoyed doing theology from film using ‘The Power of Small Choices’ and ‘Not a Tame Lion,’ both by Hilary Brand, based on footage from ‘Babette’s Feast’ , ‘The Shawshank Redemption’,'Shadowlands’ and ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ respectively.

Michaelmas 2012: Thursdays: 4th Oct, 1st Nov & 6th Dec (tbc).
13.05 – 13.55 ~ Aoi Seminar Room, UL.

ALL WELCOME!

‘GSM Prayers’ has, in the past, been a another opportunity for prayer, normally meeting on the third Wednesday of each month. When two or three are gathered…

The Festival of Ideas and the Festival of Science are always celebrated with Choral Evensong at Great St. Mary’s. On Oct 28th, at 6.30 pm, the Festival of Ideas Evensong will feature a sermon on ‘Dreams and Nightmares’.

The University Staff Carol Service is a great favourite, and is followed by Glühwein & Stollen.  Tuesday 11th December 2012, 3.00 p.m. at Great St. Mary’s.

Merton Hall Farmhouse is also available for small groups for worship.
