Worship
The Chaplain to University Staff shares in the life and worship of Great St. Mary’s and Michaelhouse, and is involved with other occasional groups, meetings and services in the life of the University.
Morning Prayer (Common Worship) is said at Merton Hall Farmhouse most Wednesday mornings at 9 am ~ All Welcome!
‘UL Prayers’ is a small group, meeting monthly at the University Library.
During Lent we ‘up the stakes’ and meet weekly.
Last year we enjoyed ‘The Power of Small Choices’ by Hilary Brand, based on footage from ‘Babette’s Feast’ and ‘The Shawshank Redemption.’
This year we followed “Not a Tame Lion”, also by Hilary Brand, based on the writings of C.S. Lewis and drawing particularly on footage from ‘Shadowlands’ and ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’:

The Festival of Ideas and the Festival of Science are always celebrated with Choral Evensong at Great St. Mary’s. On Oct 30th, at 6.30 pm, Zoë Bennett preached on the ideas Ruskin for the Festival of Ideas Evensong ~ sermon available from GSM.
The University Staff Carol Service is a great favourite, and includes Glühwein & Stollen, served afterwards! Tuesday 13th December 2011, 3.00 p.m. at Great St. Mary’s.
Merton Hall Farmhouse is also available for small groups for worship.
