Three Cambridge artists have come together for an exhibition to celebrate the local spaces we live and work in. Theirs is a very gentle, quiet, almost surreal city.
Maureen Mace paints the wide open spaces, the architecture and the people of Cambridge underneath a  rich blue sky that accompanies the moon to produce whimsical, very detailed, imaginative images of cows, bowers and towers. Alison Litherland’s cows don’t have a conventional background of green fields and trees, but are surrounded by (and seem somewhat puzzled by) loosely painted colour. Neil Warmsley finds a sense of stillness in the city, depicting its trees and green spaces. His paintings are both otherworldly and instantly recognisable.
