Welcome to Michaelhouse

COVID-19

We are sorry to announce that in the light of the Coronavirus situation and the government advice to avoid non-essential contact, we have closed the Michaelhouse Centre and Café as of 18th March 2020.

We hope to be able to reopen once restrictions are lifted. We wish all our clients well in this time of uncertainty.

If you have an event booked in the coming months, or would like to enquire about a new booking later in the year, please contact the office to discuss the details.

Email manager@michaelhouse.org.uk and we will do our best to get back to you as quickly as possible.

For more information, read this letter from Great St Mary’s.

Michaelhouse Centre is located in St Michael’s church, which dates back to the fourteenth century. We are in the heart of historic Cambridge and home to the award-winning Michaelhouse café, which serves dishes created from local produce. The building is a beautiful setting for the visual arts and offers space for community use.

This beautiful fourteenth century church is home to the award-winning Michaelhouse café, is a beautiful setting for visual arts, a spectacular concert venue and also offers flexible spaces for groups to hire.

We host art exhibitionsprivate parties, music concerts and have two meeting rooms for hire. The chancel and chapel, deeper into the building, provide a quiet space for thought or prayer aiming for a spirituality open to all. There are regular services in the chancel open to people of all faiths.

The building has wide access and ramps making it a comfortable choice for wheelchair and buggy users. There is also a children’s corner in the chancel offering a break-out space for young visitors.  A hearing loop and free Wi-Fi access are available.
